Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Eureka Crash Near 5th Street and R Street
EUREKA, CA (August 6, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash near 5th Street and R Street in Eureka.
According to an article published by the KYMKEMP, the accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 7 p.m.
The incident happened on August 5 when a white passenger car was traveling at a high rate of speed in Eureka. Witnesses said the driver of the sedan then ran the red light.
Car Runs Red Light, Hits Rider
In the process, the car t-boned the 37-year-old motorcycle rider in the area of 5th Street and R Street. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg and back pain.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of 5th Street and R Street to shut down following the wreck.
The Eureka crash is still under investigation.
