Eusebio Ponce, 56, Killed in Oakdale Head-On Crash on Highway 108
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (April 30, 2021) – A fatal head-on crash injured Eusebio Ponce along Highway 101 near Oakdale.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 56-year-old Santa Clara man as the victim of the wreck which occurred on Friday morning.
The incident happened when Eusebio Ponce was operating an International box truck east on Highway 108, east of Oakdale. At the same time, a 2006 Volkswagen was going west.
For an unknown reason, the car entered the eastbound traffic lane as it approached a bend in the road. Its driver, 27-year-old Norma Garcia, then went directly into the path of the box truck.

CHP said the two vehicles collided head-on in the process, east of Lancaster Road. According to the article published by The Modesto Bee, officers reported the accident at about 6:10 a.m.
Eusebio Ponce sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Fire department officials along with the paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, medical personnel pronounced the Turlock woman dead at the scene. CHP forced the highway to shut down for about three hours following the wreck.
The cause of the tragic Oakdale collision is still under investigation.
