Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash
BURBANK, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2023) – Evonnie Nicole Caceres, 24, of Saugus, died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Burbank at Victory Boulevard and Magnolia Boulevard.
The collision occurred over Labor Day weekend around 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 3rd, according to the Burbank Police Department.
The 24-year-old woman was a passenger in a Dodge Challenger whose driver reportedly accelerated through the intersection at the same time a black Nissan SUV was completing a left turn, police said.
The Burbank Police Department responded and conducted an investigation into what happened. They reported the Dodge struck a curb, a traffic pole and power pole at the corner of the intersection.
Evonnie Nicole Caceres was riding in the Dodge and suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported her by ambulance to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, but she later died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Dodge was also taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, police said.
The driver of the Nissan was not injured, but a pedestrian standing near the corner was hit by debris from the collision and take to a hospital for treatment.
The case remains under investigation and Burbank police are asking witnesses to contact
