Fabian Torres, 20, ID’d as Suspect in Merced Hit-and-Run Crash on G Street
MERCED, CA (November 24, 2021) – Authorities detained Fabian Torres after a hit-and-run crash on G Street in Merced.
Police identified the 20-year-old Merced man as the suspect in the collision which took place on Saturday, November 20.
The incident began when Fabian Torres was driving a black Infiniti sedan on G Street in Merced. At the same time, a male pedestrian was crossing in the 3400 block of the road.
Police said Fabian Torres then struck the victim for an unknown reason. The Merced Sun Star and Your Central Valley wrote that the accident occurred at about 2:25 a.m.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the 26-year-old man hurt on the ground. He ended up with two broken legs as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the victim to a Modesto area hospital for treatment of major injuries. They listed him in serious but stable condition.
The reports did not release the name of the wounded party Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver did not stop to help the pedestrian and fled the area.
Officers soon located Fabian Torres and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. The Merced hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
