Bicyclist Injured in Fair Oaks Hit-and-Run on Greenback Lane Near Cajun Restaurant
FAIR OAKS, CA (July 2, 2021) – A bicyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Greenback Lane near a Fair Oaks cajun restaurant.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Friday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 7:04 a.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Fair Oaks. The driver hit the cyclist at 8121 Greenback Lane near Fair Oaks Boulevard.
Bicycle Rider Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene in front of the Asian n Cajun 2 restaurant. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not disclose the name of the bicyclist and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicycle rider and fled the area. They are still searching for the suspect.
Officers forced a portion of Greenback Lane near the business to shut down following the hit-and-run collision. The cause of the Fair Oaks accident is still under investigation.
