Deputy Hospitalized After Car Crash Near Sunset and Hazel Avenue Monday
Fair Oaks, CA (April 6, 2021) – An officer suffered injuries following a traffic accident in the area of Sunset and Hazel Avenue Monday morning, the CBS News reported.
On April 5, around 4 a.m., deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an alleged prowler at the Fair Oaks intersection.
Responding officers reportedly located the suspect vehicle as described by the reporting parties. Then, the deputies pulled over the suspect.
Our sources indicated the suspect initially cooperated with the officer. However, the suspects suddenly accelerated at some point during the stop. Officials said the suspect accelerated and rammed the patrol vehicle of the deputies.
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found one officer with injuries to their head. Paramedics transported the patient to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation.

Meanwhile, the prowler led the police to a chase all the way to the Auburn area. The suspect ran into the woods and eventually evaded the officers.
Additional details on the car accident remained undisclosed. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the car accident in Fair Oaks.
