Breanna McKneely Killed, Dujuan Pines Hospitalized
FAIRFIELD, California (March 27, 2016) – One was killed and another was seriously injured after their disabled car was struck by a drunk driver on the 80 Freeway Saturday night, The Sacramento Bee.
California Highway Patrol said 46-year-old Suisun City resident Marc Crawley, was going east on the 80 Freeway when he lost control of his 1968 Ford Mustang. He veered onto the right shoulder east of the Pittman Road exit, slamming into a disabled vehicle.
The disabled vehicle then hit 34-year-old Dujuan Pines, of Fairfield, and 18-year-old Breanna McKneely, of San Pablo, who were standing outside the car, Patch.com reported.
As per The Sacramento Bee, all three were seriously injured and were taken to NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield for treatment. The 18-year-old victim later succumbed to her injuries after being flown to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the Mustang went back to the highway and crossed all lanes of traffic. It crashed into the center median, coming to a stop in the far-left lane.
Crawley was determined to have been intoxicated at time of the accident. He was placed under arrest for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and taken to Solano County Jail.
