FAIRFIELD, California (May 31, 2016) — Two drivers collided Tuesday morning in a major injury crash on the eastbound interstate 80 freeway at the Pittman Road off ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was reported to the CHP at 11:04 AM this morning and was blocking the No. 3 lane. The drivers of a white SUV and a white Lexus sedan were involved in the crash. The Celano County sheriffs office responded to the scene with paramedics. At least one person was taken to North Bay Hospital with major injuries and one person was cited after the crash.
One of the vehicles suffered major front-end damage in the crash and required a tow truck. The second vehicle was also towed from the scene.
CHP officers are investigating the crash to determine liability.
