Bicyclist Killed in Fairfield Hit-and-Run Crash Near Texas and Wisconsin Streets
FAIRFIELD, CA (October 19, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a bicyclist near Texas and Wisconsin streets in Fairfield.
According to an article published by the CBS Sacramento, the fatal accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the incident shortly before 7 p.m.
Fairfield police said a vehicle struck a man riding a bicycle for an unknown reason. The driver hit him near the intersection of North Texas and Wisconsin streets.
Driver Hits Man, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the bicyclist left lying on the road. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the rider dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the cyclist and fled the area. Officers forced the North Texas to shut down for a time near Wisconsin to following the crash.
The cause of the Fairfield hit-and-run is still under investigation.
