Pregnant Woman Struck by Car Loses Unborn Baby
FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2024) — A pregnant woman who was hit by a car Tuesday night on East Tabor Avenue, lost her unborn baby in the Fairfield pedestrian accident.
The woman was struck by a vehicle around 7 p.m. on Sept. 24th near Manor Avenue, according to the Fairfield Police Department and KRON 4 News.
The woman was pushing a stroller with a toddler inside across East Tabor Avenue, when a vehicle struck her and barely missed hitting her stroller.
Paramedics responded and rushed the critically injured woman to a hospital, along with her toddler who suffered minor injuries. However, the woman’s unborn baby died following the accident.
The driver involved stopped and cooperated with police and the investigation.
This was the first of two pedestrian accidents in Fairfield within 24 hours. A fatal pedestrian accident happened the following day on Waterman Boulevard, and there was a second fatal crash yesterday at 12 p.m. at Abernathy and Mankas Corner roads.
