7 Injured in Fairfield Crash on Interstate 80 Near Lyon and Manuel Campus
FAIRFIELD, CA (July 22, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 80 near Lyon Road and Manuel Campus Parkway in Fairfield.
According to an article published by The Record, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on July 21 at about 4:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a red Subaru made an unsafe lane change for an unknown reason on the westbound Interstate 80 in Fairfield.
In the process, the car sideswiped a blue Tesla between Manuel Campus Parkway and Lagoon Valley Road. The Tesla then collided with a Chevy pickup truck towing a travel trailer in the area.

Both the pickup and the Subaru went up the embankment upon impact. The California Highway Patrol said the two crashed through a fence onto the edge of Lyon Road.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found a total of seven people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patients to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The reports did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the Interstate 80 to shut down near Lyon following the wreck. The cause of the Fairfield crash is still under investigation.
