1 Severely Injured in Collision Near Mission Road
Fallbrook, CA (August 3, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 15 Freeway, the San Diego Union-Tribune News reported.
Auto vs. Big Rig Accident on Interstate 15 in Fallbrook
Our sources indicated a passenger vehicle rear-ended a semi truck in the northbound side of the freeway near Mission Road. The collision took place at approximately 6:20 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found the passenger vehicle partially pinned underneath the trailer. Firefighters immediately worked to extricate the female driver trapped in the mangled Volkswagen Golf TDI hatchback.
After the woman was extricated, medical personnel rendered first aid to her. An ambulance subsequently rushed the patient to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the collision happened on Interstate 15 in Fallbrook.
