Pedestrian Killed in Fallbrook Crash on Ammunition Road Near Alturas
FALLBROOK, CA (October 2, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash on Ammunition Road near Alturas Road in Fallbrook.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident occurred on Saturday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at about 9:12 p.m.
CHP determined that a vehicle struck the pedestrian in Fallbrook. The driver hit the person for an unknown reason at 575 Ammunition Road near the intersection with Alturas Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Albertsons grocery store. They found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel confirmed that the patient later died. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the motorist apparently stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced a stretch of Ammunition Road to close for a time following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Fallbrook pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
