FALLBROOK, California (June 21, 2017) — One person has died and another was injured Monday afternoon in a head-on collision on South Mission Road at Via Encinos, according to NBC San Diego.
The crash took place about 4 p.m. on June 19. A driver in a blue minivan collided with a black sedan. A 55-year-old Fountain Valley man who was driving the minivan southbound on Mission Road when the second motorist allegedly veered into his path. The Fountain Valley man died in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police closed down the roadway to help the victims and clear debris.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is heading up the investigation into liability.
