Abdurrezak Hizmali and Baris Savas Died at Hospital
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 23, 2024) — Faruk Cetin, 27, Abdurrezak Hizmali, 27, Baris Savas, 25, and Mahsun Dursun, 23, are identified as four passengers from a Toyota Prius who died after a crash Friday on State Route 163 in Kearny Mesa.
The four young men were traveling together in a Toyota Prius that was hit by a pickup truck Friday morning on SR-163 at the Interstate 805 Freeway interchange in Kearny Mesa.
The deadly, two-vehicle crash occurred on southbound SR-163 at around 1:30 a.m. on July 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Toyota Tundra pickup truck and a Toyota Prius crashed and both overturned on the highway. The sedan was totaled in the crash and the pickup also had major damage.
Paramedics responded and located four people with major injuries after they were ejected from the Prius. Faruk Cetin and Mahsun Dursun both died at the scene. Paramedics transported Abdurrezak Hizmali and Baris Savas to Sharp Memorial Hospital where they both died just after 2 a.m. the same day.
Meanwhile, both drivers survived and were both arrested on DUI charges following the collision.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation.
