Woman, 23, Killed; 2 Injured in Head-on Crash on Highway 126
SANTA PAULA, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2024) — A 23-year-old Santa Paula woman died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 126 on Monday afternoon, just east of Boosey Road east of Santa Paula.
Two others were injured in the three-vehicle collision occurred at around 2:35 p.m. on Jan. 22nd, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch and KVTA news.
The young woman was driving eastbound on Highway 126 in a 2008 Mercury SUV. She reportedly crossed over into westbound lanes and first side-swiped a 2002 Honda Civic and then crashed into a 2022 Honda Civic, the report said.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the young woman from the Mercury SUV dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old Fillmore woman in the 2022 Honda was taken to a hospital with major injuries and her 30-year-old female passenger from Santa Paula had minor injuries.
The 19-year-old Fillmore woman driving the older-model Honda survived with no injuries.
Investigators continue to work to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 126.
