Fatal 3-Vehicle Crash in El Cajon on Willow Glen Drive
Michael Droegemeier and Lowell McCrea Killed in Collision
EL CAJON, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2025) — Two men died and three others were injured in a 3-vehicle crash Friday night on Willow Glen Drive in El Cajon.
Michael Troy Droegemeier, 48, and his passenger, Lowell Gentry McCrea, 32, of El Cajon, both died in the collision, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
A green sedan, a black sedan, and a white pickup truck were involved in the collision around 8:28 p.m. on Feb. 7th, according to the coroner’s report. The pickup truck overturned onto its passenger side and the two cars both had major front-end damage.
A California Highway Patrol Officer was traveling eastbound on Willow Glen Drive when he came upon the violent three vehicle collision, the report said.
Both men were found trapped one of the cars and were unresponsive.
Paramedics and firefighters responded and extricated both injured men and began CPR. The passenger, identified as Lowell McCrea was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he later died at 9:19 p.m. the same night. The driver, identified as Michael Droegemeier died on scene at 8:52 p.m.
Three others were seriously injured and hospitalized.
Finally, the California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into what happened.
