One Person Killed In Pileup On The 55 Freeway
ORANGE, Calif. (Sept. 3, 2021) – A fatal 55 Freeway crash happened early Friday morning on the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Orange.
The collision happened about 5:40 a.m. on Sept. 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Four or five vehicles collided due to unknown reasons in the northbound 55 Freeway near Katella Avenue, the CHP said.
Police did not mention the victim’s gender or age. Additionally, the person’s name will be withheld until family members are notified.
Multi-Vehicle Crash on 55 Freeway in Orange
Authorities stated at least four vehicles were involved in the fatal 55 Freeway crash.
One of the vehicles wound up sideways and all northbound lanes temporarily closed down.
Police issued a SigAlert was issued 5:55 a.m. due to the freeway pileup.
It’s unknown at this time if anyone else suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, investigators seek to determine liability for the deadly crash.
