Woman Killed, Driver Arrested on DUI Charges
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Dec. 27, 2023) — A fatal Anaheim pedestrian accident happened Saturday night on Brookhurst Street at Bell Road.
The deadly crash occurred just after 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23rd, according to the Orange County Register.
Jose Enriquez, 26, of Buena Park, was driving along Brookhurst Street when he struck the woman in the roadway due to unknown circumstances.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital, but she later died from her injuries. The Orange County Sheriff Coroner has not yet released her name or age.
Meanwhile, the driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigation. However, officers suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. He was later arrested on DUI charges.
Authorities closed down Brookhurst Street in both directions between Ball Road and Orange Avenue ton conduct a traffic investigation.
