Pickup Truck Hits, Kills Pedestrian SR-371, Hwy 79
ANZA, Calif. (June 16, 2023) — A fatal Anza pedestrian accident on Highway 371 happened Thursday afternoon near Highway 79.
The collision occurred about 2:35 p.m. on June 15th when a white pickup truck struck a person walking along State Route 371, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck struck the victim due to unknown circumstances.
The Riverside County Fire Department sent paramedics and fire crews to the scene, but sadly the pedestrian died before they could take the person to a hospital. The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner also responded to the scene of the pedestrian accident on Highway 371.
There were no other injuries reported and the pickup driver stopped and cooperated with the CHP investigation. There were no arrests made, but the case remains under investigation to determine fault.
