Victorville Teens Killed in Rollover Crash in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (January 24, 2022) – Two Victorville teens died in a fatal Apple Valley crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Wild Wash Road.
The two 17-year-old Hispanic males died in the crash on northbound Interstate 15 Freeway about 8:25 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The teens were traveling in a dark-colored BMW 3 series sedan that became disabled along the I-15 Freeway. Investigators believe a tire flew off the sedan and caused the driver to lose control. The BMW then veered across all the lanes of traffic, overturned, and landed in the nearby desert.
CHP said officers from its Victorville station responded and found one teenage boy ejected from the BMW and gravely injured. The teenager died at the scene roughly 30 minutes later, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Meanwhile, the second teenage boy died about 10 minutes after the first at Victor Valley Global Medical Center’s emergency room. Finally, one report mentioned a third victim received medical aid at the scene and was eventually released.
The coroner’s website has not released the victims’ names pending identification and the notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the CHP Victorville office is heading up an investigation into the fatal Apple Valley crash.
