Pedestrian, 70, Killed in Apple Valley Crash
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (April 6, 2021) — An Apple Valley pedestrian accident happened Sunday night on Bear Valley Road.
The fatal collision happened on 8:37 p.m. on Sunday, April 4th, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The Apple Valley Fire District responded to the pedestrian accident site in the 22000 block of Bear Valley Road.
Man Killed in Apple Valley Collision
A witness stated the victim was a homeless man. The man and his small white dog walked into the pathway of an oncoming 2015 Chevrolet Cruze. The car struck the pedestrian and the dog ran off into the desert.
Additionally, despite efforts to help the man, he died at the scene at 8:48 p.m., the report said.
Also, the man’s name was not released pending positive identification and family notification.
The motorist involved in the collision remained at the crash scene, but there were no further details.
Meanwhile, the Apple Valley pedestrian accident remains under investigation with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Major Accident Investigation Team. Witnesses may contact Deputy Cullum or Deputy Sahagun at 760-240-7400.
