AZUSA, Calif., (August 12, 2026) — A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Wednesday morning in Azusa on the westbound Interstate 210 Freeway, just east of Citrus Avenue.
UPDATE: Taylor Cornelius, 32, was identified as the pedestrian who died in the crash on the 210 Freeway in Azusa.
The incident was reported on Aug. 12th at approximately 3:28 a.m. when the victim’s body was found lying in the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Initial reports indicate that a pedestrian was involved and was partially blocking the slow lane on the right shoulder.
Emergency responders, including units from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, arrived on the scene promptly after being notified.
The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time. Authorities issued a SigAlert around 3:46 a.m. and implemented lane closures to facilitate the investigation and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
The California Highway Patrol is leading an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. They are urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
