2 Killed in Crash Involving a Budget Moving Truck
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2024) — A moving truck and other vehicles were involved in a fatal crash Friday morning on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway in Baker, San Bernardino County.
Two people died and four were badly injured in the multi-vehicle collision occurred about 4:11 a.m. on Jan. 19th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The drivers of a white Budget rental truck, possibly hauling a vehicle or trailer, and two other vehicles were involved in the crash, north of Highway 127, near mile marker 142, the CHP said. Also, one of the vehicles caught on fire after the collision.
Meanwhile, paramedics from San Bernardino County Fire responded to help six people hurt in the crash and found at three people with major injuries. They requested two or three air ambulances to land on the freeway and airlift the injured from the crash scene. However, two people died from their injuries after the collision.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed at least one of the damaged vehicles from the freeway and Caltrans helped to clear the roadway of debris in traffic lanes.
Finally, investigators from the Barstow CHP station are working on the case to determine fault.
