Fatal Bakersfield Bicycle Accident Sequoia Drive and Roberts Lane
One Killed in Crash at Bakersfield Intersection
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2023) — A fatal Bakersfield bicycle accident happened Wednesday night at Sequoia Drive and Roberts Lane in Kern County.
The deadly crash occurred at around 9:34 p.m. on Nov. 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A driver in a burgundy Ford Expedition was reportedly driving at “high speed” prior to crashing into a bicycle rider and overturning onto its side.
The unidentified person riding the bicycle sustained major injuries and died at the scene.
Additionally, the Kern County Sheriff Coroner will identify the victim after notifying family members.
Finally, investigators are working to determine if drugs and or alcohol were a factor in the fatal Bakersfield bicycle accident. There were no charges filed at this time.
