Man Pushing Disabled Car Struck and Killed
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2024) — A man pushing his disabled vehicle was hit from behind by another car in a fatal crash on 7th Standard Road in Bakersfield.
The deadly collision occurred at 12:05 a.m. on Sept. 26th, according to the Bakersfield Police Department and KGET.
A driver struck the man in the 3200 block of 7th Standard Road, just west of Zachary Avenue, according to the report.
Bakersfield police responded and located the man down in the roadway suffering from major injuries. Paramedics responded and his death was confirmed on scene. He was later identified as Fabian Castañeda. His family has a Gofundme page to cover funeral costs.
Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle stopped and cooperated with the traffic investigation.
