Fatal Bakersfield Crash Interstate 15 Freeway, Lerdo Highway (June 5)

2 Killed in Crash on I-15 Freeway at Lerdo Hwy

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 8, 2021) – A fatal Bakersfield crash left two dead Saturday morning on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Lerdo Highway.

The California Highway Patrol reported the 2 a.m. crash on June 5th between two motorists.

Fatal Bakersfield Crash 2 Killed

One of the drivers was heading in the wrong direction on the freeway when they collided with the other vehicle, police said.

Upon impact, both drivers died at the scene of the freeway crash.

It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved in the fatal Bakersfield crash.

Meanwhile, the CHP is heading up an investigation into the cause of the collision.
