
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Jan. 20, 2023) — A fatal Bakersfield crash happened early Friday morning at Santa Fe Way and Kratzmeyer Road.
The collision occurred about 12 a.m. on Jan. 20th in the Rosedale area of Kern County, according to the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD).
Bakersfield police responded to a 911 call reporting the solo-vehicle crash and found a Honda Odyssey minivan off the roadway. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road and crashed into multiple trees in a nearby orchard, police said.
They found one woman believed to be the driver of the minivan deceased at the scene. Also, a second woman suffered injuries and was disoriented following the collision.
She was taken to a nearby hospital. Another woman, suspected to be the driver, was found dead at the scene.
The Bakersfield Police Department Major Collision Investigation Team is currently investigating this crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the BPD at (661) 327-7111.
