Woman Struck, Killed on Edison Highway in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2022) — A 42-year-old woman died in a Bakersfield hit-and-run pedestrian accident Thursday night on Edison Highway, just west of State Route 184, the California Highway Patrol said.
The deadly collision occurred just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 20th, according to the CHP.
Authorities investigating the crime believe the woman was walking outside of a crosswalk. An eastbound motorist struck her in the fast lane of Edison Highway, according to a report by KGET.
Sadly, the unidentified woman suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver continued traveling eastbound on Edison Highway without stopping to help her.
Authorities are hoping someone saw what happened or has information regarding the suspect. They are asked to contact the CHP at 661-396-6600.
