BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (March 16, 2022) —  A fatal Bakersfield motorcycle accident happened Sunday night on Harris and Old River roads.

The collision happened about 7:54 p.m. on March 13th, according to Bakersfield.com.

A driver in a car reportedly struck a man riding an off-road mini motorcycle, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

The deadly crash happened at the intersection due to unknown circumstances. The rider suffered major injuries and died shortly afterward.

Additionally, investigators say the motorcycle was in the roadway, but did not have proper lighting. The woman driving the car did not see the bike, but was not injured in the crash.

Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol contributed to the fatal Bakersfield motorcycle accident police said.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office did not release the victim’s name.
