Semi-Truck and Motorcycle Crash on Edison Highway in Kern County
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 31, 2024) — A fatal motorcycle versus semi-truck accident happened Wednesday afternoon on Edison Highway at Bena Road in Bakersfield.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in eastbound lanes at around 1 p.m. on Jan. 31st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the motorcyclist allegedly made a U-turn into the path of an oncoming semi-truck on Edison Highway. The rider went down in traffic lanes and a passerby performed CPR on the victim, but he suffered fatal injuries on scene.
Authorities closed down the roadway to conduct an investigation into what happened and determine fault for the motorcycle accident on Edison Highway.
