
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Southwest Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle accident happened Thursday afternoon in Bakersfield at Harris Road and Hockett Peak Way.
The deadly, two-vehicle collision occurred at around 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 14th, according to KGET News.
The Bakersfield Police Department responded and located the motorcyclist suffering major injuries and the victim reportedly died on scene.
Investigators working on the case report the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on Harris Road when a driver in another vehicle made a left-hand turn onto Hockett Peak Way.
The man riding the motorcycle was found in the road at the intersection with major injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Meanwhile, the motorist in the other vehicle stopped and cooperated with the investigation, police said. The preliminary results of the police inquiry indicated speed may be a factor in the crash.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after relatives are notified.
