Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at Bakersfield Intersection
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (April 26, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle accident involving a pickup truck happened Wednesday morning at Jet Way and Rosedale Highway in northwest Bakersfield.
The crash, which involved two motorcycles, occurred just after 10:30 a.m. on April 26th, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Two motorcycle riders were turning from Rosedale Highway into the southbound lanes of Jet Way when an eastbound Nissan pickup truck crashed into the two riders, KGET reports. One of the men riding a motorcycle suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The second rider was taken by ambulance to a hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck did not report any injuries. The motorist stopped and is cooperating with the Bakersfield Police Department’s investigation.
Investigators spoke with multiple witnesses and are piecing together what happened to determine fault.
The fatal Rosedale Highway motorcycle accident remains under investigation.
