Skateboarder Struck, Killed on Westside Parkway (SR-58)
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2024) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened on Highway 58, also known as Westside Parkway, on Halloween night.
The deadly crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 31st, just east of Allen Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the unidentified person went down in the westbound middle lanes after being struck by at least two vehicles. Other motorists were swerving to avoid the victim in the roadway and traffic was eventually diverted away from the crash scene.
The drivers involved reportedly stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation.
Authorities say the identity of the pedestrian wasn’t released, but will be made public by the Kern County Coroner’s Office after relatives are notified.
