Man Struck, Killed at South Bakersfield Intersection
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday night in Bakersfield at Hughes Lane and Valorie Avenue.
A driver struck the unidentified victim in the roadway around 8 p.m. on Sept. 26th, according to Bakersfield Now.
Bakersfield police responded to the intersection and located the man in the roadway with major injuries, the report said.
Paramedics transported the injured pedestrian to a hospital, but unfortunately he later died.
Deadly Crash on Hughes Lane in Bakersfield
Authorities investigating the collision have determined the vehicle was traveling southbound on Hughes Lane at the time it hit the pedestrian.
The motorist stopped and cooperated with police investigation. Police determined that drugs or alcohol impairment were not a factor in the case of the driver.
