Fatal Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on North Chester Avenue, Wilson Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(April 24, 2026) — An investigation is underway into a fatal pedestrian accident on North Chester Avenue and Wilson Avenue on Thursday night in Bakersfield.

The deadly collision occurred around 10 p.m. on April 23rd when a driver struck the pedestrian due to unknown circumstances.

Police responded and blocked off the roadway due to the collision and fatality. The report did not mention the victim’s age, gender, or identity, pending notification of next of kin. Witnesses should contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Dept. or CHP.
