BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (August 12, 2022) — A fatal Bakersfield pedestrian accident happened Thursday night on East Panama Lane.

The deadly crash occurred about 11 p.m. on August 11th, according to the Bakersfield Police Department and 23ABC News.

A driver reportedly struck the pedestrian in the 2300 block of East Panama Lane in South Bakersfield.

Authorities believe the woman was walking in an eastbound lane of the roadway. A driver in a vehicle reportedly struck her due to unknown reasons on Panama Lane.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene where the woman died before she could be taken to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield police say the involved motorist stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.

They do not suspect speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
