Woman Struck, Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Reina Road
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2021) — A fatal Reina Road pedestrian accident happened Wednesday morning in Bakersfield.
Ivonne Lizbeth Vivas, 48, of Bakersfield, died and two other pedestrians were knocked down in a crash off of Reina Road in northwest Bakersfield, according to Bakersfield Now.
Additionally, the deadly, hit-and-run collision happened just after 7a.m. on September 8th, police said.
Three Pedestrians Hit on Reina Road
A 17-year-old driver was possibly distracted when she struck the pedestrian in the collision on Reina Road.
Sadly, the woman suffered severe injuries and died on impact. Meanwhile, the teenage driver initially drove off, but later she returned to the scene.
Also, the driver struck two other pedestrians. These two pedestrians did not suffer injuries in the crash. Police did not disclosed the victims names or the name of the driver involved.
Police are investigating the cause of the Reina Road pedestrian accident, but do not suspect drugs and or alcohol.
