Man, 51, Struck, Killed in Hit-and-run Crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2024) — A 51-year-old man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Friday night on Roberts Lane in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at around 10:53 p.m. on Friday, December 27th, just south of Brandon Way.

By the time CHP officers arrived on scene, the driver involved in the crash had left the scene.

CHP officials reported the 51-year-old man was walking westbound across Roberts Lane and was struck outside of a marked crosswalk.

The driver of a southbound vehicle struck the victim at an unknown speed and the pedestrian died at the scene.
