Driver Hits Pedestrian on South Union Avenue
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2023) — A 50-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident Monday in Bakersfield at South Union Avenue and Fairview Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported the deadly crash around 6:08 a.m. on Sept. 18th.
A driver struck the victim in the roadway due to unknown circumstances. The driver stopped and is cooperated with authorities, according to KGET News. However, a second motorist struck the victim and fled the scene.
Paramedics and police responded and located the victim in the roadway. The victim died on scene due to major injuries. Authorities closed down a portion of Union Avenue to investigate the fatal pedestrian accident in Bakersfield.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Bakersfield pedestrian accident.
