2-Vehicle Crash on the I-10 Freeway in Banning
BANNING, Calif. (August 16, 2022) — A fatal Banning crash on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway happened Tuesday, just east of Highland Springs Avenue.
Robert Colarossi, 51, of Banning, reportedly died in the crash, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 6:23 a.m. on August 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP that a driver in a white Jeep Compass became stalled in the slow lane prior to the collision. An oncoming maroon Kia reported crashed into the Jeep due to unknown circumstances.
Robert Colarossi was in one of the vehicles at the time of the Banning crash on the 10 Freeway, but there are no further details. The CHP called the coroner to respond to the freeway crash scene.
Meanwhile, investigator are working on the case and will determine fault for the deadly crash.
