Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Semi Truck Near Lake Herman
SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2022) — A fatal motorcycle accident involving a semi-truck happened Thursday morning on Lake Herman Road in Benicia, Solano County.
The collision occurred about 11:15 a.m. on Oct. 6th, in front of 885 Lake Herman Road, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch. The two-vehicle crash occurred just east of the Lake Herman Recreational Area entrance.
A 23-year-old Benicia man riding the motorcycle reportedly crossed over into the path of a semi-truck at a curve in the roadway. The truck reportedly ran over the motorcyclist, the report said.
The Benicia Police Department and paramedics responded to the scene, but were unable to help the victim. They requested the coroner respond around 12:06 p.m. Authorities did not release the victim’s age, gender or identity at this time.
Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the damaged motorcycle from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the accident on Lake Herman Road.
