Bicyclist Struck, Killed in Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (August 10, 2023) — A fatal bicycle accident happened Tuesday morning at Alessandro Boulevard, just east of Graham Street.
The collision occurred about 5:21 a.m. on August 08th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. A driver in a black Kia Optima reportedly struck a bicyclist due to unknown circumstances. The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station sent deputies to the scene and upon arrival found the driver of the Kia with the injured bicycle rider.
Also, paramedics responded to help severely injured bicyclist laying in the roadway. They transported the injured male to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The victim’s name and age were not released.
Meanwhile, the Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team closed down the eastbound and westbound lanes of Alessandro Boulevard to conduct an investigation into fault for the collision.
