Bicyclist Struck and Killed on Jurupa Road
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (May 3, 2024) — A fatal bicycle accident happened last week on Jurupa Road, just east of Troth Street in the Mira Loma area of Riverside County.
The deadly crash occurred at around 11:08 a.m. in the 10500 block of Jurupa Road in Jurupa Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. and CAL Fire Riverside.
A driver reportedly collided with the pedestrian riding a bike and a power pole, the report said. Police responded and closed down Jurupa Road between Troth Street and Marlatt Street, the report said.
Paramedics responded to help the injured bicyclist, but despite efforts to save his life he died at the scene, the report said.
Meanwhile, the driver from the vehicle became trapped and was extricated and transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, the report said.
Also, Southern California Edison came to repair the damaged pole.
Finally, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is heading up the investigation. Witnesses to the crash should call Deputy Shinn of the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951–955–2600 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office at 951–776–1099.
