Man Riding a Bicycle Struck and Killed in Campbell
CAMPBELL, Calif. (Sept. 19, 2024) – A man riding a bicycle died in a car accident Wednesday on San Tomas Expressway and West Campbell Avenue in Campbell.
The deadly crash occurred at around 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18th at the Campbell intersection, according to the Campbell Police Department.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to a local hospital, but he later died from his injuries, police said.
The victim’s name was not released, but once relatives are notified the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release his identity.
Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Preliminary results indicate alcohol and or drugs did not factor into the collision, police said.
Finally, authorities closed down the southbound lanes of San Tomas Expressway and eastbound lanes of West Campbell Avenue due to the investigation.
