Pedestrian Killed on I-5 Freeway in Boyle Heights
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 19, 2022) – A fatal pedestrian accident on the Interstate 5 Freeway happened on Tuesday at South Lorena Street in Boyle Heights.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene at 2:46 a.m. on April 19th on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway, just north of South Lorena Street and located the victim.
Police and paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the I-5 Freeway. They located the victim near the center divider of the freeway. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved red Honda stopped and cooperated with the police traffic accident investigation. Authorities issued a SigAlert for at least two hours due to the blocked freeway.
Three lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours during the investigation.
There are no further details about the deadly, Boyle Heights pedestrian accident.
