Fatal Crash State Route Highway 4 in Brentwood
BRENTWOOD, Calif. (April 7, 2022) — A fatal Brentwood crash involving a large pump truck on Highway 4 happened Thursday morning near the Marsh Creek Road off ramp.
UPDATE: Leilani Lake, 18, of Livermore, identified as driver killed on Highway 4
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 5:48 a.m. on April 7th, just south of Balfour Road in Contra Costa County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of an eastbound gray Toyota Corolla collided head-on with the semi-truck in the westbound lanes of Highway 4. The smaller vehicle reportedly veered into the path of the truck. The car suffered major damage on its driver’s side during the collision. “The driver’s side door of the vehicle is completely crushed,” the CHP dispatch said. Leilani Lake, 18, was trapped in the vehicle and reportedly died at the scene, according to the CHP dispatch.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed both vehicles from the highway.
