Police Search for Suspect in Canoga Park Hit and Run
CANOGA PARK, Calif. (June 28, 2022) – A fatal hit-and-run crash at DeSoto Avenue and Vanowen Street in Canoga Park left one man dead and now police are searching for the suspect who fled on foot.

The deadly, two-vehicle collision occurred about 12:30 a.m. at the Canoga Park intersection.
A driver in a black Dodge Ram truck allegedly ran through a red traffic light and slammed into the victim in a Lexus.
During the collision, the Lexus struck a utility pole and the victim was ejected from the vehicle, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The Lexus driver is identified as a man between 25 to 30 years old.
Authorities investigating the crash report the Dodge Ram was traveling at a high-rate of speed estimated at more than 80 miles an hour.
Meanwhile, medical personnel pronounced the driver from the Lexus dead at the scene, the LAPD said.
The airbags in the Dodge reportedly exploded. Also, debris from the collision scattered across the roadway.
Police report the driver of the Dodge Ram ran fled on foot from the scene. However, an LAPD K-9 unit tracked the suspect until about 5 a.m. Authorities continue to seek the whereabouts of the motorist.
The investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
