Fatal Car Accident at Road 9, Avenue 25 Near Chowchilla in Madera County
Woman Killed in Crash at Madera County Intersection
CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2025) — A woman died early Tuesday following a crash at Road 9 and Avenue 25 near Chowchilla area in Madera County.
It happened in front of 25127 Road 9 at around 4:56 a.m. on Feb. 25th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The woman was driving a Nissan Altima southbound on Road 9 and allegedly drove through a stop sign at the intersection with Avenue 25, the report said.
That’s when her car was hit on its side by a westbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, police said.
The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Tacoma had complaints of pain, however, did not require an ambulance.
Investigators are working on the case, but do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors.
