
Man, 80, Killed in 2-Car Crash in Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2023) – A fatal car accident on Beach Boulevard Thursday morning left an 80-year-old man dead near Knoxville Avenue in Huntington Beach.
The deadly crash occurred about 9 a.m. at the Huntington Beach intersection between a white Toyota Corolla and a black Porsche Panamera, according to a press release by the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The 80-year-old man was reportedly driving the Toyota and pulled out of a private driveway on the east side of Beach Boulevard, just north of Indianapolis Avenue. As he entered the roadway, he moved across Beach Boulevard in a westerly direction and collided with the northbound Porsche in the No. 1 lane.
The elderly man suffered major injuries and died following the traffic accident.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Newport Beach man in the Porsche stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol are a factor in the car accident on Beach Boulevard, police said.
Authorities will determine fault for the crash upon completion of their investigation.
